About Norwegian Knitting
Welcome to Norwegian Knitting!
Welcome to the vibrant world of Norwegian Knitting, where tradition meets innovation, and creativity knows no bounds. Founded in 2016 by the talented Kristin Myrmel, our knitting haven has flourished into a global community that transcends borders. In 2020, the familial passion for knitting expanded as two of Kristin's daughters joined the endeavor, infusing fresh perspectives and energy into our creative little family business.
With over 12,000 registered course participants hailing from every corner of the globe—from the picturesque landscapes of the USA and Canada to the charming streets of Bosnia, the sun-soaked plains of Australia, the cultural richness of Austria and Germany, the lush landscapes of Vietnam, and the vibrant spirit of Chile—our community truly represents the diversity and unity of the global knitting family.
At Norwegian Knitting, we specialize in teaching the art of stranded knitting, weaving together the rich heritage of Norwegian knitting techniques with contemporary flair. Kristin says:
I actually think I was put on this earth to teach - and to help other people fulfil their potential and master something new, or get even better in something they already know a bit about.
So, my week is filled with lots of interesting encounters with a variety of students, of all ages! I do have a range of specialities, so I teach Trumpet playing and Music to children, I teach Academic Writing to graduate students, I teach Applications and Funding to voluntary organisations - you get the picture! I LOVE TEACHING!
And, at the risk of sounding toooooo boasting - I`ve been told I`m a good teacher.
NOW I have combined my passion for teaching, with my passion for Norwegian Knitting!!
I really look forward to being YOUR teacher and helping you succeed with your knitting!
